Changes

Lot's of changes going on in the Bantz household recently:

1. Myles is 90% potty trained!
2. We converted the crib into a toddler bed.
3. Myles has a new feature on his lip, a scab. He was playing with his buddies at daycare, stepping onto the stool to get on the trampoline when cabaaam, he fell. Injuries included a bloody, fat lip. Other than the abrasion to his shin he got this summer, this is the first real injury sustained. I think he's done rather well overall, recieving an A+ in injury prevention in our book. I wish my stats were as good.
4. Myles likes to walk around with one glove on. We were laughing so hard, watching him meander around the house with his glove, we couldn't resist to take a picture.

Myles has done such a fantastic job with adjusting, what a good little boy we've got. I've noticed I'm having more of a hard time with these changes than Myles though. Realizing that he is no longer a baby hurts me so very badly. Ahh, life moves on, people grow up, blah blah blah.

Loving him most.....

Lauren and Detrik spent the evening playing with Mr. Myles tonight, and what a great night it was. 2 couples madly in love with this little guy and surrounded by love.

We just loved this picture. In unison, Lauren and Myles pulling up their britches.

Loving him most, the best way we can.

Potty training #101

Today marks officially the first full day of potty training. I just had to get a picture of his cutsie superhero undies. Isn't he so darn cute! It's been quite the challenging day, to be honest. The first time he wet through his underwear, he said, "buff my bumper's", while standing in a puddle of urine. This is a quote used on Thomas the Train. Really, it was the cutest thing, who could be bothered by the clean up after hearing that?
Myles playing with his leap frog laptop. What an amazing tool. Learning the alphabet, pronunciations as well as potty time. He just loves it.
Woot, woot, Myles just went potty, now we both are celebrating! Afterwards, he says, "I can do it."

After spending most of the day in the bathroom, Myles and were both pretty kooky. While playing with his laptop, he pressed the letter J. When it made this noise, we both busted out laughing. From then on, anytime he presses it, we laugh out loud. Ahhh, what a day!

Happy New Year 2012!

Okay, really we just had a blast for New Year's. With inspiration from Toni and Lisa, we decided to throw a mini party and make a huge mess. Countdown at 10pm and bang, here comes the confetti.

Myles loved the silly string, imagine that, each of us getting a face full of the fragrant and moist goo.
Time to light off the fireworks and sparkler's. Happy New Year everybody!

Christmas night with the family

We had a fabulous Christmas night with the family, opening up presents, eating too much, and of course a dose of Rock band. It just wouldn't be right not to have Rock band during the Christmas Holiday's.

We sure do miss you!

Christmas 2011

Christmas morning, Myles waking up to see if Santa stopped by.
This is the first year Myles could really open up a present. It was such an amazing Christmas, throwing "Reindeer food," out for the reindeer the night before, baking cookies for Santa and exploring the town for christmas lights, which Myles loved. We hope and pray that every Christmas can be just this perfect. Really, we couldn't ask for anything more.

After Myles opened up his present's, he ran off to play and explore. We ran across Santa's gift he brought for Myles, which he hide behind the couch. This is Myles running down the hall as he hears a train in the front room.

Santa brought Myles "Thomas the Train." Exactly what Myles asked for from Santa.

Christmas Eve 2011

We decided to break out the train again for Christmas Eve, and this was Myles reaction when he heard it steaming along.

He just loves this train and could spend the entire day fiddling with it.

Next up, Grandma and Grandpa Ashton's house.

As you can see, he is thrilled at his new Thomas The Train coloring book and Little People truck. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!

Back at the house, Myles opened up his homemade Thomas the Train blanket. His love for Thomas seems to grow and grow each day, to the point of only wanting to wear Thomas clothes.
Myles helping dad open up his Christmas Eve gift.
What a fabulous day it was.

Family photo's 2011=tricky tricky, tricky

Okay, lesson learned. Never play "Lion King" in your car dvd player for your child to watch for the first time on your way to family photo's. Jay and I haven't watched this show in decades, so we completely forgot just how sad the part was when Simba's dad dies, heartwrenching. It just so happened that the distance from Kuna to Hidden Springs, movie time, will land you at the end of this awful scene. Poor guy, hence the picture below. Sad Myles. Bad, bad parental choice. Shame on us.

After jumping for what seems to be centuries, we have now been rewarded with a grin!

It was a cold, blustery day, bone-chilling really, when we decided to go get family photo's! Fantastic idea, right? WRONG........from the moment we stepped out of the car, Myles was ready to vamoos. Aha, chickens, this will distract him from the bitter cold......nope. All in all, the quickest photo shoot we've had, but boy oh boy was it tricky to get him to grin. Friends of ours were standing behind the camera jumping none stop to get the little guy to smile. Thank you Trooper and Tanner, your rock hard thigh's are a source of proof of all of the squats/jumps you did, just to ensure a fabulous photo!
