Let the Christmas Celebration begin!

Time for Christmas, which means Christmas parties!
Our first Christmas party this year was our beloved "B" team party. The "B" team is our team name for our Ragnar trail running group. It's unbelievable how most of us were complete strangers when we headed up to Lake Tahoe for our first run, now we are family and love each and every one of them.

Next up is Myles school Christmas party. He had a blast and so did we.

Time to make the Christmas sugar cookies. Myles did such a great job with the icing and sprinkles.
And of course, the clean up.
Jay's work was having a pot luck and he was in charge of the cake. While Myles and I made the cookies, Jay was busy with his cake and this is the final product.

What's Christmas without a gingerbread christmas train?

Thanksgiving Take 2!

So, I finally decided to download pictures from my camera and hadn't realized I had more of Thanksgiving, so here is round 2. By the second picture, Myles decided to take control of the camera. Have you ever wondered what Thanksgiving was like in the eye's of a four year old? Well, here you go.
Danielle and dad together on movie night.
Myles and his cousins Tagen and Willow.
And here is where Myles takes charge.
                                                                   Rocky the dog
                                                        Jay trimming the turkey
Aunt Danielle and her reindeer ears
Me and my reindeer ears, apparently there is a theme going on.
                                                         Aj and his goofy face
                                                          Willow upside down
At this point, Myles begin instructing everyone to gather round and do a group picture. I see a future career for this boy.
                                                          Tonya and her goofy face
                                                      Buddies Myles and Tagen
                                                                  Myles selfie
                                                                   Aunt Jasmine
                                                    Aunt Payton and cousin Willow
                                                                   Aunt Teresa
                                                                            Tagen

Special Thanksgiving

My parents came home early from there mission in the Phillipines due to a serious illness my dad is facing. An emotional return gave us this opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with them and enjoy the moments we have together as a family. We find ourselves taking for granted the little things in life until something like this happens.
I just love this picture, we all just noticed that they are coming through the doors.

This year's Thanksgiving was the best we've ever had. Everyone together, appreciating and loving another.

Myles and his great cousin, Willow.
                                                          The "adult" table.
                                                               The "kids" table.

Batman Lives!

Another obsession Myles has right now is batman. He loves dressing up and doing what he calls "fighting skills." Of course either Jay or I are Joker while Myles, or batman woops up on us.

Halloween 2013

When we asked Myles what he wanted to be for Halloween, he yells out "a hammerhead shark." We knew he liked hammerhead sharks, so it wasn't a surprise, but we weren't sure how to incorporate this as a family.
So, we came up with scuba divers and a hammerhead. Behind us is our fancy tanks made up of 2 liter soda bottles sprayed with silver spray paint and homemade flippers  made from cardboard.
We were invited to a couple of Halloween parties this year, so our Halloween was extra exciting and fun.

Myles made lots of new friends.
By far, the cutest darn hammerhead shark I've ever seen!
Next up, is Jack's Halloween party. Myles has several costumes he likes to get dressed up in, so for this party, he wanted to be Optimus Prime.  All of the kids played in costume on the trampoline. This was very entertaining to watch.
Time to bit the donut hanging from the string. Myles really struggled getting ahold of this tasty treat with his teeth.
So, here comes along his buddy and her Jack, here to save the day.

                                             Myles and his friend, Noah.
Noah, Dillon, Myles and Jack all in costume, ready for anything!
Last up is my works trick or treating extravaganza. This time Myles decided to go with the trusty batman costume. His friend Zadie joined him for this round.

Our friend Alexus. We love her.
On the actual Halloween day, we went to my work and stopped by Alexus's house. At this point Myles wanted to go home, instead of continuing trick or treating in our neighborhood so he could pass out candy to kids. We loved how much fun he had passing out candy, rather than receiving it for himself. The best part was seeing Myles face when his favorite buddy from school, Izzy showed up at our house to trick or treat. He was so excited!
