High Deseret 10K Trail Run 2011

Dear High Desert Trail Run, your steep hills, badger holes and rough terrain made me cry deep down inside. Your seemingly flat grassy patches which for a second was a great relief for the ankles, ended up only to be a great disappointment, after only finding out your sneaky hidden holes, ensuring great pain.

I have always envisioned a life of running, but for some reason, only dreamed of it. No more dreaming, time to start living the dream, running the dream.

Myles, playing in the Kuna desert, waiting for Mom to come trekking back.

My dear friend, Norma, I just love her. We've worked together since our building opened, she is my mentor. A great mother, wife and friend, I look up to her with great admiration. We did it, our first 10K together! Myles and Jay waiting and cheering at the finish line.
It's hard to see, but Myles was drinking a bottle of water, then held it out to me, offering up his cold water for Mommy.

Myles found a water hole, which he ended up falling in.

Happy Birthday Young Man!

Jay turned a whopping #2 yesterday and doesn't he look so mature!
Shame shame, I forgot to grab candles at the store, so a #2 candle had to suffice. Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband and father. You are the light of our lives.
Here are Myles and dad opening up a present Myles picked out just for him, bubbles while apparently Poncho is enjoying dad's aromatic feet. Haha, makes me giggle.
A tasty ice cream cake from TCBY, Myles was bouncing off the walls for most of the evening.

Warmer Day's

Myles has continued his love for water from last summer, and we have already had several water fights with the hose. P.s. Myles alway's starts it......

Taking a sip from his water toy.

Ring of Fire!

Myles just loves the movie" Finding Nemo." His most favorite part of the film is the ring of fire, with chanting and dancing, which we all must participate in for the biggest grin out of Myles.
Myles now has his own "Ring of Fire," which we set up last week. He just loves this thing. His new found friend are a beta, named Nemo and a frog named froggy.
Myles grabs his chair, swings it in front of the sink and loves starring at the little guys.
Day #1, finished product, Myles first fish tank.

Day# 2 of Myles first fish tank. Myles found a way to climb up the bathroom sink, then decided to grab the hand soap with the fish inscribed on the bottle and give his new friends a bath. With a lot of cleaning and frog/fish prayer's, Myles didn't have to attend his first fish/frog funeral. It is now located on a higher kitchen counter as shown below.

Mother's Day

What a wonderful Mother's Day it was this year. Off for my morning run first thing, then hot coffee and breakfast Jay and Myles made. We spent the entire day together goofing off and running around buying flower's for our pots and barbecue fixin's. Grandma Linda and Grandma and Grandpa Ashton came over, each planting a beautiful bouquet of flower's for their pot. A day spending time with the special one's in our lives is the best way to spend on Mother's Day.

Easter 2011

Easter 2011, a day to celebrate and rejoice in so many ways. Love, peace, laughter and time are memories we will hold dear in our family this day. The joy of such simple pleasures are how we spent the day. We actually celebrated the entire weekend.

Jay's mom invited us to her church Easter egg hunt on Friday. We were worried Myles wouldn't know what to do, like last year, but sure enough, he was a machine. He has played with the few Easter egg's he collected last year till now, so he was on a mission this year. Although he collected a basket full, he was so pleased at the one, the rest were ignored.

Next up, my work Easter egg hunt. A guaranteed hit every year. 1500 eggs thrown about with a jump house included. My work know's how to party it up, and party it up Myles did. Yet again, with at least 25 eggs in his basket, he was thrilled with the one, then moved back to the jump house. We all had so much fun, what a difference a year makes with holiday's.

Myles buddy Noah, giving him a hug.

The final hunt on Sunday, included lot's of recycled eggs from the previous hunts, candy included and bubbles.

Sharing his eggs with Grandpa Bart and Grandma Linda.
Finally a ride on the 4 wheeler with Dad. Myles just adores this machine, not so much the noise it exudes though.

Myles got an Elmo book for Easter, then we made Easter basket cupcakes. P.s, do not use licorice as an Easter basket handle, they brake in the middle by morning. Cry cry,Sniff sniff. What a wonderful day, wonderful life!

Boots and bubbles

Myles just diggs Jay's boots, can you tell?

Myles got a bubble blower for his birthday and what a hit it was. So much, each time he goes outside he say's, "bubbles bubbles." I'm sure the neighbors are enjoying the air filled with soapy bubbles, we sure are.
