Western Idaho Fair, round #2

My, my how time flies these day's. I can't believe this is Myles second time at the Fair already. Everyone warned us it would go fast. Well everyone, you are right. The fair was a totally different world this year for us, exploring so much more this time. It is so much fun to see the look in Myles eye's as he makes his own discoveries for the first time. The dinosaur exhibit was definitely the best. We were nervous about Myles getting freaked out, but he did great. They looked and sounded like real dinosaur's with an area in the back you could search for dinosaur fossils in the sand.

I just love these pictures. Myles loves looking through holes, so it was easy this year to get him to look through with a grin.
Myles went on his first ride at the fair. The picture's below were his second ride. The first was a roller coaster, yes roller coaster. As soon as we arrived to the kiddie area, we were so excited to get Myles on a ride, we ran to the first thing we saw. There were several toddler's on this ride, but apparently this wasn't there first time. Myles and I boarded this monster and were instructed by the sweet fair man on how to safely buckle us in. As the ride began, immediately I knew this was a bad bad idea, by the twist's, turn's, inclines and declines ahead of us. Myles began making whaling noises immediately. I think it was the girls behind us screaming at the top of there lung's more than anything that freaked him out. Each time, passing Jay standing by the stroller, he looked more and more concerned. This look was reciprocated by his wife and son.
Ride #2 was the train, a much wiser choice for Myles. As you can see, he has a look of concern. I think he was scarred by the monster roller coaster. Sorry little dude. It's funny how you learn thing's as you go. We ran into a friend who informed us about the pamphlet's at the ticket booth on age appropriate rides. They laughed at us, only after confessing they did the same thing with there first. Well, now we know!
Overall, a fantastically fun day at the fair this year. We were lucky enough to meet some very special people. So blessed to spend it together with our family.

One of our favorite hangouts is Settler's Park. What a great way to spend a hot summer day. Myles not only loves the water, but also watching the other kid's play. It is so much fun to watch them interact with each other.

It gets a little crowded sometimes, but Myles does a good job making his way through and finding his fountain of water.

Another fun night at the Bantz household. Myles new irritations include: 1. diaper changes
2. getting his shirt over his head
It's funny how before, he never minded any of the above until now. We decided to make some fun out of it and throw his pants on his head. He walked around the house, clapping his hands. I think it worked!

We had a power outage from a storm last night, just as we were getting ready to get Myles in the tub. We brought out the flash lights, candles, glow sticks and of course his turtle that light's up star's on the ceiling. The picture to the left, I have my flash on. Myles grabbed the flashlight and decided to spazz out. It was hilarious to watch.

Here's Myles with the glow sticks. It was hard to get a picture of him in the dark, not wanting to use the flash to get the cool effect. I'm not sure, but I think Myles had a fun night last night.

August Shenanigan's

Each year, our friend from California, Carly comes down and throws a fantastic pool party. Last year, Myles was only 3 month's old and it was his first time in a pool. It's so funny how just 1 year can make such a difference and how much he has changed.
This year, Myles took the pool by storm. Kicking, paddling and stealing dad's sunglasses to add to his cool demeanor.
Myles made a few new friends that night, toting around with his new little buddy, checking out all the dirt, throwing rock's in the stream, and doing all the "guy stuff."
Myles first time in a tire swing, all by himself. He had a death grip while being pushed and twirled back and forth.
